Please correct me if Iโm wrong, but fall = brown, and thereโs nothing you can do about it. Therefore, itโs only logical to start my fall capsule wardrobe checklist with a timeless turtleneck dress in a timeless color.
It comes with a matching belt and has this elegant (and yet trendy) loose-fitting, oversized sleeves. They reach up to the wrist, so adding some big bracelets seems like the right thing to do.
Again, agree with me or not, not many fashion pieces could be perfect for the big meeting with your boss and for the big date night with your bae. This one is.
2. Belted Trench Coat
Well, well, well. What do we have here? A trench coat? Yes. The perfect trench coat for your classic capsule wardrobe? Hell, yes!
I donโt usually use this phrase, but come on, look at it! Itโs lightweight! Elevated with an oversized collar, wide belt, and draped back panel! Beige! Itโs just begging for rainy days! Follow Blake Livelyโs example and wear it with high heels, or channel your inner Irina Shayk with a pair of white sneakers.

Whatโs the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear โleather pantsโ? Ross Geller is the correct answer. But autumn capsule wardrobe essential is what I want to hear.
Before we get any further, I feel like I have to clarify that doing yoga in leather leggings is not something you should or… can… do.
Besides the fact plenty of high fashion brands have brought them back to the runway, a pair like this one is the focal point of most fall #OOTD. To be honest, Iโve always had a love-hate relationship with vests. Writing capsule wardrobe fall winter right next to them may seem like a scary move to make. Especially if you are in the floral print camp, but the rumors are true โ they are the capsule wardrobe fashion blogger move of the season.

6. Oversized Stripe Sweatshirt
Similar to the something-is-the-new-black concept, reserving stripes for summer and summer only is such a misunderstanding. Fix it now with this oversized sweatshirt from ARKET โ an absolute must-have in my 2022 capsule wardrobe. Why not in yours too?

8. Oversized Wool Blazer
Iโm not going to lie. Building the work fall capsule wardrobe is not something you can do in a day or even a week. Itโs a lot of work, work, work, work, work, work (in Rihannaโs voice), but choosing the best blazer is one of the first steps.
This favorite of mine is from & Other Stories. You can get it in sand or dark beige, but whatever your choice, you will look amazing both in your Zoom call and in the next IRL meeting that could have easily been a Zoom one.

Coats must tick a lot of boxes. They have to be warm (duh), look stylish (even with three scarves on top), easy to dress up, easy to dress down, and easy to match.
No matter what crosses our minds while heading to checkout, thereโs no complete casual fall capsule wardrobe without *casual* and yet elegant outerwear. The self-tie belt is an accent itself. You also donโt need a bag because you have two large patch pockets at your disposal.
Letโs put it this way, if Zendaya was a coat, she would definitely be this one. I’m adding it to my fall shopping list. Are you?

I may run out of appropriate metaphors, but fall without a textured sweater is like Dua Lipa not killing the game โ possible, but just not likely.
