HOW TO WEAR ANKLE BOOTS WITH JEANS IN WINTER 2024:
Black Skinny Jeans + Flat Ankle Boots + Cropped Tweed Jacket
Recreate the look:
Ever since Gabrielle herself immortalized the fabric back in the 1920s, tweed has been synonymous with CHANEL. A great option to pair with different types of boots and jeans for a more polished look.
Tweed is trending high right now, so make it one of your wardrobe essentials. Bonus points if it actually is CHANEL, but no worries if not. You can still achieve a classic look with black skinny jeans and black leather booties.
As a rule of thumb, keep your jackets short to elongate your legs. A stylish belt is a must, and donโt forget the pearl earrings to really make this chic look pop.
Black Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots + Black Stripe Sweater
Recreate the look:
Stripes are in and work with almost any style of jeans. Black stripes go especially well with black boots and black jeans, but be sure to include a contrasting color somewhere โ Weโre not going for a funeral look, here.
A neutral color coat would work wonders, particularly during the colder months. Think oversize to help complement the sweater. When itโs the time of year for layers, use them!
Black Skinny Jeans + Flat Boots + Knitted Vest + White Shirt
Recreate the look:
The easiest way to sneak in an extra layer is with a knitted vest. Not only are they in style right now, but theyโre easy to use with different outfits. So you can keep up your style โ and your heat โ even with a casual look.
But letโs be honest, even our everyday wear is far from casual when we know how to style our outfits this well. This would also work with black leggings or even black tights with a long enough top.
The white shirt and large cuff are giving me Clueless vibes, and this pair of boots completes it.

Black Skinny Jeans + Flat Ankle Boots + Neutral Coat + Sweater
Recreate the look:
Here, I used a neutral top to contrast the black bottoms. Although the combat boots may look ready for battle, the only war Iโm fighting is the one going on in stores on Black Friday.
Keep your sweater a regular length and let the coat hand low as you gracefully make your way down the shopping aisle. The bag is the finisher, so choose wisely. This little black number is always reliable.
You likely already have a go-to bag you use all the time, right? If not, check my newest obsession, Johnny Loves Rosie.
Black Skinny Jeans + Flat Ankle Boots + White Turtleneck Top + Beige Coat
Recreate the look:
In a rush? Letโs make this easy. White tee or turtleneck, black skinnies, and a beige or camel coat โ for just a little pop of color, and flat ankle boots (black booties ideally).
The coat instantly elevates your look. As for the top, a white sweater would also work here. Itโs a simple outfit to put together.
If you have a belt to match your coat, then you are good to go. Itโs no problem if not, though. A classy buckle on a black belt will also top the look nicely. Just make sure to tuck in your top, so it can be seen.
Straight Blue Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + White Turtleneck Top + Black Blazer
Recreate the look:
Time to break out the blue straight-leg jeans. Letโs start off by pairing them with a white turtleneck. You canโt really go wrong with a white top and blue jeans. Itโs a timeless look that isnโt going anywhere.
Now add a pair of ankle boots, and youโre almost there. These straight jeans are good for both business and pleasure.
For business, finish with a black blazer like this woolen beauty from & Other Stories. For pleasure, switch out for a black leather jacket (ideally from vegan leather) and graphic tee, and see where the night takes you.

Straight Blue Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + White Turtleneck Top + Cream Puffer
Recreate the look:
For those who prefer bright colors, go for a light puffer such as cream or off-white. Puffer jackets are a must-have for any capsule wardrobe. Thick enough to handle the cold, but also light enough in warmer weather.
Low ankle boots help to show off the leg line, especially with wide-leg jeans. Isnโt that why we wear ankle boots in the first place!? But the high ankle boot also looks great.
Round off this compilation with a black belt and a small black bag to match the black leather boots. Or go for white ankle boots to complement the coat. Itโs the best thing when the elements of your outfit match. Our looks should be curated, not random.
Straight Blue Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + Oversized Roll Neck Sweater + Neutral Coat
Recreate the look:
Wrap up for that wind chill with an oversized sweater, preferably with a roll neck that doubles as a scarf. If youโve got a neutral coat to go with your denim jeans, then this outfit can also work with flare jeans and brown boots if you prefer.
Work with what you have, that is the key to a good capsule. Of course, black makes for the best boots, but feel free to branch out of your comfort zone with some brown ankle boots. Your style is your style.
White Mom Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + Black Roll Neck Sweater Black Puffer Coat
Recreate the look:
This outfit is all about balance. White jeans and a black top can work when done correctly. Here we have a long puffer coat to help create a modern look that exudes style.
Opt for a brown belt to spice things up a bit. Your go-to bag will work here. With the right pair of booties, your mom jeans will take you anywhere.
Chelsea boots are a great way to style a cropped pair of jeans. Their versatility makes them perfect for any capsule.
White Mom Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + Oversized Roll Neck Sweater + White Long Coat
Recreate the look:
Now we tip that balance all the way to lighten up our next outfit. Itโs my favorite way to brighten up those dark gloomy winter afternoons. A light coat makes this happen, along with the standout sweater.
You can pair any boot style with this outfit, even cowboy boots. They donโt have to be as bright. If anything, the whole look works better with a black pair of ankle booties to contrast.
White Mom Jeans + Black Ankle Boots + Beige Sweater + Beige Coat
Recreate the look:
As with the rest of the looks, sticking to a 3 color palette is a key to creating classy and cohesive outfits. The roll-up leg allows you to show off the shaft of the boot. Let the world see how great they are. The matching sweater and coat arenโt the only stars of this show. Add a belt and this look is ready to wow your audience.

A timeless year-round capsule wardrobe you can’t wait to wake up to.
In wrapping up our cozy and chic journey with ankle boots and jeans, we’ve seen how versatile this duo can be, from snug skinny jeans to the wide embrace of wide-leg jeans. Straight leg jeans are a trusty pick for most boots, but why not give bootcut jeans a whirl?
They’re ideal for showing off those tall boots with a higher shaft. Knee-high boots peek beautifully with a single cuff on your jeans, creating a sleek line that’s very now.
And don’t forget the ever-popular ankle length boots. Whether they are short ankle boots or tall ankle boots, they’re a great match for nearly any denim style.
For a sharper look, a pointed toe is a perfect pick, or go for a stiletto heel to dial up the drama. If comfort is your priority, a block heel provides stability without skimping on style.
Fashion For Thought
As the fall season breezes in, a classic style to revisit is the dark wash, full-length boot-cut jeans paired with a high shaft boot.
It’s a timeless choice that flatters all body types. To keep the hem of the jeans just right, remember the boot height can make or break your outfit.
Suede or tan ankle boots are a sublime choice for that second look, making sure the hem grazes the tops of your boots.
For the best results, allow your pant legs to meet the top of the booties. This works whether you opt for different styles of ankle boots, sock boots, or something with a wider leg opening to complement the current trend.
Remember, fashion is about expressing yourself, so take these tips, make them your own, and strut into the season with confidence. Whether itโs the ankle bone-skimming elegance of short boots or the commanding presence of tall boots, you’ve got this!
Now youโve got the outfits, itโs time to get styling. Put together your favorites, take some picks, and tag me on socials (@savinaofficial). I love to see you make these looks your own. Donโt forget, if you have any questions about what weโve talked about here, Iโm just a DM away. Stay stylish.

I love every outfit and could recreate them from my wardrope. I have the chunky boots on black and cream but even with wearing H&M ankle length jeans they are full length on my 5.3″ body. I have shorten ones in the past but then my legs look shorter. I think you need to see more of the boot like you have so I coats jumpers jeans boots in neutrals but I can’t get the look .?

Hey Rosemary, I’m so glad that you found the post helpful! In terms of jeans for petite size, I’d highly recommend checking Everlane. They have some of the best styles (great quality too!!) and are currently reduced. These are my favorite styles – https://fave.co/3hYaZvB + https://fave.co/3TUp2PY
