Do you ever wonder if there are specific minimalist clothes that just have to be part of your autumn winter wardrobe? Minimalist clothing pieces that are so well-fitting and easy to style, you will simply wear them on repeat throughout the cold season and maybe even beyond? Guess what! The answer is yes. These 7 amazing items below are timeless gems you should definitely consider adding to your closet if you don’t have them already.
If you want to build a long-lasting minimalist wardrobe in 2021, the first thing you need to know is where to shop. But there are so many stores out there, where do you even start? Personally, for me, these are the main minimalist clothing brands worth investing in, especially if you’re on a budget and can’t afford designer buys.
But you may not have time to spend on browsing through the websites of different fashion companies. I don’t blame you. I’m a fashion blogger and this is part of my job. So to save you time (and money) I’ve rounded up a selection of my favorite essential pieces for autumn/winter 2021/2022 from affordable minimalist clothing brands. This list will help you find those must-have life-saving staples that truly deserve a spot in your wardrobe.
7 ESSENTIAL MINIMALIST CLOTHES DESERVING A SPOT IN YOUR AUTUMN/WINTER WARDROBE:
1. Warm Blazer
If you’re going to invest in just one piece in autumn 2021, make it this oversized responsible wool blazer from & Other Stories, one of my favorite minimalist clothes brands. This is an investment purchase that you’ll have in your wardrobe for the foreseeable future. The neutral color allows for versatility and the material will keep you warm even in the coldest temperatures. If you’re a regular blog reader, you know that I swear by the & Other Stories blazers. They might actually be the best-fitting ones out there, within this price range. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a cheap buy, but I guarantee you, you get your monies worth when it comes to cost per wear.

2. Everyday Overshirt
Since I’ve got my hands on this overshirt from ARKET last year, it has been my go-to throw on every time the temperature starts dipping down. I wear it with leggings, jeans and even fitted dresses styled with trainers. It’s so functional! Not to mention that every time I post a photo on my Instagram with it, I get a ton of messages asking where is it from and what size I wear. I’ve got it in the smallest – EU34 as I’m 5’4 (164cm) and I usually wear S in tops. It’s a wonderful addition to my minimalist wardrobe, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. It really completes the minimalist clothes style.

3. Cashmere Turtleneck
I used to have a similar turtleneck from French Connection that I was wearing on repeat every single autumn, year after year. It was made of cotton, I think, as I remember I was somehow always cold with it and had to wear a warm bodysuit underneath. I don’t know what happened to that jumper. Maybe I left it in my sister’s wardrobe when I moved to London to live with my boyfriend, but I’m so happy to discover this beautiful piece from Everlane. Not only is the fit even more flattering than my old FC one, but it’s also made from recycled cashmere and elastane. Which means comfort, sustainability, and functionality! As someone who is always cold, finding warm, stylish, and ethical clothes for a good price is a real struggle. This item should be on everyone’s minimalist clothes list.

4. High Waist Trousers
Minimalist or not, every girl needs a classy, elegant, versatile pair of high-waist trousers in her autumn/winter wardrobe that can make her feel sexy and confident no matter what the occasion. Well, I found the perfect ones! If these recycled wool pants fit your body shape, get your hands on them right away, because trust me when I tell you this, they will be sold out real fast. It’s a rare find that you’ll treasure forever. These are the type of pants you’d see the iconic Katherine Hepburn in, but with a modern twist. Alternatively, if that’s not the right fit for you, check the rest of this brand’s trouser section. They have some of the best fairly priced “Girl boss” styles.

5. Half Zip Sweatshirt
The athleisure trend is huge in fall 2021, and I’m all over it! That’s why the preppy collar sweatshirt just had to be added to this list. It’s such an easy-to-style, often ignored, minimalist garment that’s ideal for autumn, and all-year-round, really. Here’s my best find for any minimalist wardrobe capsule. It’s made of organic cotton, which is much better for the environment and yourself actually because it’s free of toxic substances. I love the color and the cut. So minimal and pretty! A half-zip sweatshirt like this can be worn with a lot more garments than you think. Style it with joggers, cropped puffer jacket, and sneakers for a casual walk in the park, or dress it up with straight black jeans, ankle boots, and a camel coat for dinner with friends.

6. Crew Neck Bodysuit
As we’re replacing the classy t-shirt with a bodysuit in the cold season, make sure you invest in a good staple piece that you can wear every day as a layer or on its own. At the end of the day, practical items make for the best minimalist clothes. I’ve added this one to my closet a month ago, and I’ve worn it more than ten times already! I love the flattering fit, and I’m obsessed with the color. I’ve got the ‘heathered burnt sugar’ in size small. It looks great with an open button white shirt and jeans, as well as worn as a top.
P.S. Specifically for winter, I’d recommend this bodysuit from ADAY. It’s super warm, a must-have capsule wardrobe essential.
