When I was a little kid, I was wondering how I will look when I grow up. I closed my eyes and a super hot chick with waist-length hair, pink lipstick and high-heels, just like those of my favorite Barbie, appeared in front of me. This chick wasn’t me, although I truly believed that. I was never seeing myself, but a reflection of everything that I found beautiful, unattainable and cool in that time, everything I wanted to be.
Now, years later by then, when I’m old enough and have finally reached the exciting age of my childhood dreams, I don’t feel anything special when I look at myself in the mirror. Nothing magical and super exciting. At least most of the time.
Seemed while I’ve been growing, someone was secretly removing the pixie dust from the corners of my mind, so all I have now, is such a small part of it, that only the morning January wind is able to remind me of its presence. Especially when I’m stupid enough to leave the window open … or go out with only my coat on.

Когато бях малка се чудех как ще изглеждам, когато порасна. Затварях очи и виждах пред себе си супер готина мадама с дълга до кръста коса, розово червило и обувки на висок ток, точно като тези на любимата ми Барби. Девойка, нямаща нищо общо с мен. Изобщо не виждах себе си, въпреки че истински си вярвах. Виждах отражение на всичко онова, което смятах за красиво, готино и недостижимо тогава, и на което исках да бъда притежател.
Сега, години по-късно, когато съм пораснала достатъчно, че възрастта ми да отговоря на онази вълнуващата и така дългоочаквана в детските ми мечти, аз не усещам нищо специално, когато се погледна в огледалото. Нищо вълшебно и супер вълнуващо. Поне през повечето време.
Сякаш, докато съм растяла, някой тайно е почиствал вълшебния прашец от ъглите на съзнанието ми и е оставил толкова малко от него, че само сутрешният януарски вятър да бъде в състояние да ми напомни за присъствието му. И то, когато проявя глупостта, да оставя прозореца отворен. Или изляза навън само по палто.
